Posts: 53 10/25/09 09:12:45	I accidentally destroyed a bunch of stuff on my old computer, experimenting to see if I could get xp to install over the top of windows ME. Went badly... but I wasn't too saddened, in some ways it saved me the hassle of transferring the stuff. I'm reasonably good at backing up, so anything really valuable is safe on various DVDs and external hard-drives about the place. Windows 7 hey? Cool. Everyones in love with it at the moment, I wonder to what extent it's deserved and to what extent it's just a compensating over-reation ofter everyone's hate of Vista. But it's the only way to go now, XP is getting too long in the tooth. I'm pretty happy with XP on my current computers, but I'm glad that when I buy a new one it'll have a new, decent operating system.

Posts: 99 10/27/09 17:40:54	That was sadly, funny, MK. Changing an Operating System I guess one always loses anything not backed up. Another rude awakening is when people take their computers in for repair and employees say, "this could take 2 to 3 weeks or more to repair." (A bit of fear or frustration is what I saw in the face of my fellow customer while I waited in line.) I liked Windows XP. Windows 7 seems okay - but there's a learning curve. It absolutely can't play some of my old programs. (Note: I only have the W7 Home edition.) It took me a while to figure out how to let it play Digitally Imported streaming music, but with patience it actually can... One weirdness was about a day after installing Windows 7, my mouse's left click button really, extremely wasn't working properly - especially about drag and click stuff. Previously, it was more subtle, I thought it was just me - maybe I'm having the shakes, and being uncoordinated. (I'd have to not double click, but quadruple click to open a file. And then about a day after my Windows 7 "update", the left button became about fifteen clicks to work. I swore a few words at W7. But then I bought a new mouse, and, wow, the left click button now works.) Another stupid tangent: The weather here (end of October in Utah, USA) is getting cold and mice are entering my basement apartment again. I'm preparing my apartment with lots of mouse traps. And I'm seeing cute, dead mice. It's an awkward joke or pun with my own computer's dead mouse problems. Last weak, my voices played a joke on me. (Non computer related and non-interesting to others.) I had a vision of how prayer worked. (Integration with some energy with hope and gratitude themes.) Then that day my mother called and suggested "try prayer". I responded, "Yeah, thanks, I was thinking that too." But later, I realized/thought my vision was a joke from my voices - maybe meant to help me respond in a consoling way to my mother. Meanwhile: I do smile about life. But death infects my imagination in a way that it also seems quite potentially wonderful. Last Edited By: xpsyuvz 10/27/09 18:01:04. Edited 1 time.

Anyhow, to answer your (thinly disguised) angry demand for an explanation, I find anything off topic that gets repeated ad nauseum, every thread, to be a nuisance. I think technically it is called "spam," a barrage of unsolicited and distracting advertising material. I hope you don't take it as a personal attack, I like you. I just wish you'd change the record and stop being so lazy in your thoughts. And multi-posting is a bad habit too, making a post, then another post, then often another post. It is acceptable in small doses, I've done it myself sometimes, but you do it almost all the time. It's also a bit patronizing the way you try to play the guru, "Listen to me, I have great wisdom for you all!" When people say that, I tune out fast. If they keep saying that, over and over regardless of the topic, I get bored, and I don't like boredom. In fact, what you post here I don't mind. This board is just for xp and I (and whoever else shows up) to have a friendly chat, not really a debate or discussion board, so if you feel like chatting too go ahead. But KIR is meant to be more serious, and you kinda drag it down. Sorry.

(Alternative tangent: My voices claim to be guides. I would ban them if I could. Just a story, but don't let it feed your ego, please.) Perhaps one should try to find out from the inner voices themselves what makes them "think" that they are indeed legitimate guides. I've wrestled a lot with two basic ideas with my voices: "You are not real beings, just a product of brain quirks." "Even if you are other beings/supernaturally real, you are not legitimate guides." Both of those ideas/beliefs/feelings/experiences I can't seem to dispel. Challenging those ideas leaves me in failure that may lead to frustration. E.g. Me: Who are you? Maybe you are not real? What are you doing? Why are you seemingly acting so annoying and stupid? Voice: I'm real and going to continue acting in this way. (Yes, it seems stupid to you. Even after all your arguments, I've still decided to act the way I do to you, though.) It seems to always be an annoying dead end whenever I try to interact with them. So I ignore them and distract myself from them if I can. Within all the frustration, it has left me often thinking about something that seems to be there that I would call "hope" (but not even a hope for something, just "hope" as an experience thing) -something that might exist even while one is extremely annoyed or dying. All I can do is let you know that others are rooting for you and trying to share whatever you may find to be helpful. I myself have been in a situation in which I depended on others to pull me through. They did so without any expectation of receiving any benefit as a result. (There was something I wanted to post but never got the chance to. I thought it was clever but now it's totally lost - I can't remember anything about it - oh, well.) But if you're not that offended, then here's some prose, but it's a double story kind of thing and don't read it until you're really bored: Zzzip. Like lightning it scratches across Samuel's brain. The doctor's bag had a zipper. The doctor's voice breathed out air that said, "I'll see you again soon." Samuel was thinking aloud, "What? What? The bag was supposed to have a snap - not a zipper. And I'm not supposed to be seeing you soon, because I'm going on a ship across the Pacific ocean to some Asian country." The zipper re-echoes in Samuel's head. And the doctor says, "Samuel, you missed your boat about a week ago. Or rather, in fact there was no boat and you live in a landlocked city. You are not being relevant." (Samuel experiences another zipper experience.) Sam: There is a fucking zipper on your bag. Doctor: What? Sam: Shit the fucking "what" out your butt. Doctor: (Gibberish to Sam.) Samuel notices his zipper experiences are getting fainter. And he starts to realize he's not going to travel on a ship... [Eventually:] Sam: Okay, goodbye doctor. Samuel walks home on a path at night. He sees a figure on a horse approaching him. It seems he's staring at Sam. Sam feels cold and paralyzed. They both stop when they meet. Sam's eyes look the other way, then eventually are able to rotate up to look at the figure. The figure is hooded and carrying a scythe. He seems to be looking at a piece of paper then also looking at Sam. "Is your name Samuel?" the figure asks. Samuel gets a glimpse of the eyes under the hooded figure. They seem to be glowing and staring into his soul."N-n-no," lies Samuel. After a pause, the figure slowly responds, "Okay, riiiiight. ...Do you know anyone that looks exactly like you that might go by the name of Samuel?" Sam is shaking. He pictures worms in his heart eating out holes. "No," he manages to whisper. "Well that's really fucking peculiar," says the figure. There is a long pause of silence. Samuel feels like snakes are strangulating and constricting his heart. The figure says, "I was supposed to meet someone that looked exactly like you at this exact place and time. But with the name of Samuel." Samuel has fallen to the ground in fetal position. He's also pleading about help or forgiveness in his mind. Then he looks up the figure. "Fuck!" The figure is apparently extremely angry. "Goddamn fuck! Do you know what Hell is?" Samuel is kneeling and covering his head with his hands. He whimpers, "No". The figure answers, "Well, it's being newly assigned to this annoying Grim Reaper position. Fuck, I can't seem to find any of my souls I'm supposed to collect. I'm way behind schedule. I got to run... Thanks for your time and have a nice day. Goodbye." And then the figure gallops away on his horse.
